By using the Workout Buddies mobile app, website, or related services (“Service”), you agree to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information. We may update this policy from time to time; the effective date will always be posted above.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect two types of data: information you provide directly and data collected automatically.
A. Information You Provide
Name, email address, and password when creating an account.
Profile details such as fitness level, goals, and equipment preferences.
Payment data processed via Apple’s App Store (Workout Buddies does not store card details).
Optional media uploads such as post-workout selfies or comments.
Support or survey responses.
B. Information Collected Automatically
Device identifiers (device model, OS version, app version, IP address).
Usage data (session length, workouts completed, favorites, app interactions).
Analytics and performance data via Firebase Analytics, Cloudflare, and Google Analytics.
Cookies or similar technologies for improving functionality and user experience.
HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use your information to:
Operate and personalize your experience in the app.
Display workouts, music, progress, and social (“Buddy”) features.
Process payments and subscriptions through Apple.
Send reminders, updates, and encouragement notifications.
Detect and prevent spam or abuse.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
DATA SHARING
We may share limited data with trusted third parties that help us operate the Service:
Firebase (Google LLC) - authentication, analytics, and secure storage.
Cloudflare, Inc. - content delivery and app performance.
Apple Inc. - subscription billing and account management.
Beehiiv - newsletter and marketing communication.
Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel - aggregate usage and performance reporting.
Each partner processes data in compliance with their respective privacy policies. Workout Buddies does not allow advertising networks to access or sell user data.
COOKIES AND TRACKING
Workout Buddies and our partners may use cookies or web beacons to enhance functionality and track usage trends. You may disable cookies in your browser, but some features may not function correctly.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Workout Buddies is intended for use by adults age 18 and older.
We do not knowingly collect or store personal information from anyone under 18.
If we learn that we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, we will promptly delete it. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided information may contact support@workoutbuddiesapp.com for assistance.
HEALTH DATA AND USER-GENERATED CONTENT
Workout Buddies allows you to log workouts and post photos and notes. This data is optional and used only to personalize your experience. Uploaded photos are automatically moderated for safety using Google Cloud Vision.
Workout Buddies does not collect health data subject to HIPAA or medical device regulations. The Service is for general fitness and motivational purposes only.
DATA STORAGE AND RETENTION
Your data is securely stored in encrypted Firebase databases and protected by access controls. We retain data only as long as your account is active or necessary to provide services.
When you delete your account by emailing support@workoutbuddiesapp.com, your personal data and media are permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.
YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on your location (including California and the European Union), you may have rights to:
Access or request a copy of your personal data.
Correct or delete your data.
Withdraw consent or object to processing.
Request data portability.

INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Workout Buddies operates primarily in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer and storage of your data in the U.S. where privacy laws may differ from your jurisdiction.

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and automated scanning to protect your data. However, no system is entirely secure. You use the Service at your own risk.
ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICS
Workout Buddies may use aggregated data to measure ad performance and app usage. We use Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, and similar tools to understand user behavior. We do not use your personal data for behavioral advertising.
SOCIAL MEDIA INTEGRATIONS
If you connect through Facebook, Apple, or Google, we may collect identifiers necessary to authenticate your account. We do not post without your permission.
THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES
Our Service may link to external websites or apps. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party sites.
